Trashy Tuesday

Because of my love with all things Hollywood, I have dedicated every Tuesday to blogging about Hollywood gossip. Now, certain people (read, Kinda and Alyah) will no longer bug me about the blood types and DNA mapping of celebrities!! This is for everyone who's interested in knowing, but can't be bothered to read about, the dirty gossip of the rich and famous. I will be sieving through the trash and reporting the dirt right here, every Tuesday to give you only the most scandalous information!! So, stay tuned and enjoy ...



So, Sunday night was the Oscars!! Okay, let's start with the fashion! My personal favorites were Natalie Portman, Sarah Jessica Parker and Penelope Cruz. Although many disagree with my SJP choice, I thought her dress was just gorgeous. I was also happy to see so many gowns from Lebanese designers: Viola Davis was wearing Reem Acra, Angelina Jolie and Evan Rachel Wood were in Elie Saab and Miley Cyrus chose Zuhair Murad (although I thought her dress sucked!).


In the 'what was she thinking category' we have Reese Witherspoon (YUCK), Kate Winslet (channeling her inner teta), Beyonce (wrapping paper is for presents), Jessica Biel (who looked like toilet paper threw up on her) and Vanessa Hudgens (Halloween was in October)!

As for men's fashion, BORING - a tux is a tux! But, there were many yummy morsels on the red carpet, starting with my fave of the moment: Robert Pattinson (sigh, sigh)! Like a total loser, I stayed up until like 2.20am Beirut time just to see him before going to bed - EVEN THOUGH I WAS TAPING THE WHOLE THING!! Oh well .... Also Daniel Craig, how delicious is that guy?!??!! Everyone else just paled in comparison. (By the by, I read that Natalie Portman was totally making the moves on our very own Edward Cullen and acting like a complete 'pariah' - insert your own insult here!)


My favorite red carpet moment, though, was when the Slumdog Millionaire kids were interviewed by Ryan Seacrest - I will admit, I cried as if I was watching a Hallmark movie!!



And now onto the winners: I really thought Meryl Streep should win for best actress, although I like Kate Winslet. And, I thought Sean Penn deserved his best actor win, although I really wanted Mickey Rourke to get it. I was THRILLED that Slumdog Millionaire won, it was definitely my favorite movie of the whole lot. (FYI: For any of you suffering from insomnia, seriously, just watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and you will be out faster than you can say The Curious Case of Benjamin Button!).
